The latest film by Sam Mendes whose earlier notable works include Revolutionary Road, Road To Perdition, Jarhead is Away We Go, a movie that is truly inspiring, speaks to us and a total fun to watch.

The couples Burt and Verona (John Krasinski and Maya Rudolph) are expecting their first child and are looking to give their child the best home they can. They are on a road trip seeking out ways to have a better life. Along the way, they meet people of different moulds, most of them setting bad examples. To quote one is Burt’s own parents, (Jeff Daniels and Catherine O’Hara), real self-seeking individuals who seem more keen on moving to Belgium than to welcome the new born. Another is a talkative ex-colleague of Verona who makes statements most of which are in poor taste. And there is also this hippie mom, (Maggie Gyllenhaal)who lives by strange precepts.

Screenplay writers Dave Eggers and wife Vendela Vida need to be duly credited for having crafted a material that is witty and displaying genuine human emotions. Furthermore, the tremendous performance of the cast has led to the howling success of the movie.
